Donated my first bag of blood in my life today. Reason for this donation is to accompany a friend, who’s donating too. Was given the sticker that you see in the photo and I had a laugh when I saw the content. It reminds me of those ‘first time’ scenes in hentai manga. ^^;

My first bag of blood wasn’t really full. According to the nurse, my blood was too ‘concentrated’ due to lack of water. And because of this, my blood won’t flow fast and smoothly into the bag. In the end, the nurse had to stop the whole donation as I took too much time. The nurse also told me that I had squeezed the object in my hand too hardly till the needle had shifted. And the nurse had to shift it back which hurts. =_=

And this is how my arm looks like in the end of the day. Bruises here and there. The nurse said that the bruises should be gone after a week and was given some cream to apply onto the bruises. Lesson learned from this donation is to drink plenty of water before donating blood. The whole donation wasn’t painful except the part when the nurse shifted back the needle, which don’t normally happen. Hope that more people will donate their blood, which is good for the donor’s health and people who need it.
