Recent Pre-ordered Figures

Let's Rock!!!

Let's Rock!!!

I had just pre-ordered some figures from Hobby Search recently and the figures are either from Good Smile Company or Max Factory (they really know how to let my money disappear).

Pre-ordered Nendoroid-Petit The Idolmaster Stage 01 when the reservation starts. I didn’t play any of the games before, but did saw some videos. Maybe will try to get the game when the PSP version released. Besides looking beautiful, another reason for making the reservation is that they come as Nendoroid-Petit set. Nendoroid-Petit series are always my favourite. Although they are small, they are well made and easy to carry around. THE iDOLM@STER’s official website here.

Hello, I wish to make some order.

"Hello, I wish to make some pre-order."

When I saw Nendoroid Tsukasa and Miyuki are available for reservation, the first thing comes into my mind is to pre-order both of them. These are normal version without the animal ears. I had already missed Nendoroid Konata and Kagami, so I will make the same mistake again. ^^; Lucky Star’s official website here.

“OMG!” That’s what comes into my mind when I saw Max Factory’s Haruhi Suzumiya Extravaganza Version. The figure is very detailed from top to bottom and same goes to the guitar. I couldn’t make my decision at first as it cost 7,800 yen. However, I give in to her in the end.

All the figures I mentioned above will be released on March 2009. Seems like my wallet will get burnt during that month. T_T

Anime Festival Asia 08

Finally uploaded my photos. Went to AFA 08 on 22 and 23 Nov. Reached there in the afternoon for both days, so I think I had missed out half of the programs. Below are the photos taken during the event. Enjoy! ^^

Didn’t take any photos of May’n as requested by her. However, it seems like there are still many people taking photos or video recording. Her voice and performance were impressive, but a lot of heads were blocking my view. T_T

To me, the main attraction of the festival is the two live concerts. There are many booths selling discounted figures and merchandises, which seems like a bazaar. Since it’s their first time organising, there’s still much space for improvement in the future. Looking forward for next year. ^^

Danny Choo And The Animax Blogging Workshop

Everyone is waiting for the presentation to start

Everyone is waiting for the presentation to start

Attended Danny Choo’s blogging workshop together with my brother yesterday. Finally, I can see Danny Choo ‘live’, which is good. Did take some photos of the presentation, but didn’t turn out very nice so I decide not to upload it. Still learning how to use my camera as I just bought it 2 days ago. I like Danny Choo’s presentation as it is interesting and not long-winded like normal presentation. Also, showing 2D gals from time to time do help. ^^;

After the presentation, is some offline networking time. Danny Choo starts to distribute his name card to every blogger. Just like bees attracted to honey, everyone lines up to collect his name card and taking photos with him.

Interview with Animax

Interview with Animax

After some networking, the media started their interview session with Danny. While waiting for the rain to stop and talking to other bloggers, I spotted the interview between Danny and Animax.

Searching for words, please wait...

Something interesting is that Danny seems to get a bit nervous at the beginning of the interview, especially when he was asked to hold an Animax mic in front of the camera. I enjoyed watching the different reactions and expressions made by Danny during the interview. So I decided to take some behind the scene video with my camera. Not sure whether I can upload it? Need Danny’s and Animax’s permission.

Danny is a funny person (kept on laughing when he started speaking in British and Singlish slang during the presentation) and also a knowledgeable in his work and interest (earning money from affiliates to buy his house and start his own company ^^;).

Really happy that I decided to attend this workshop. It lets me have some ideas on how to improve my blog. I do treasure the moments talking to Danny in person as he is my idol (same with many other comrades at dannychoo.com). Too bad I’m too shy to talk to other bloggers. ^^; But lucky I met tueac.

So, I decided to ask Danny for his autograph on his lovely name card (thanks for the suggestion from a blogger-to-be that I met at the workshop). This is the first post with my own photos. Will see more in the future and I will start to do some reviews on my figures soon.

Please visit dannychoo.com and you won’t regret it. ^^

Macross Ace Frontier

Where do their endless missiles come from?

Where do their endless missiles come from?

I mentioned during my previous post that I’m busy playing Macross Ace Frontier with my PSP. It’s a 3D shooting game which I don’t like as I can’t control very well. However, I started to get addicted to this game after playing through a few stages. One of the reasons is that you can enjoy the songs from the Macross series while playing the stage, especially songs from Macross and Macross Frontier. Another reason is the graphic and the various mechanics. The graphic is well done and you can customize the colour of the mechanics. Also, you can enjoy piloting planes and robots, or even both combined. But the main reason that keep me playing the game is actually the homing missiles. As I’m not very good at playing 3D shooting game, homing missiles really help a lot. I also enjoy shooting plenty of missiles and watching how the missiles fly towards the target. Below is one of their videos.

You start the game by choosing the main pilot and partner. After that, you will play through different stages from Macross, Macross Plus, Macross 7 and Macross Frontier. When you finish the stage, you are awarded points for both pilot and mechanic to improve their abilities. You will also be given a rank, from E to SS. This is the part that pulls me down. The ranks lets you unlock some of the ace pilots, mechanics and extra missions. As some stages are hard to obtain a S or SS, you will end up replaying the stage again and again. Also, the extra missions are too difficult for me (I’m not a pro). T_T

I’m still playing the game now and I only left the extra missions uncompleted. I enjoyed the game even though i only watched Macross Frontier and a bit of Macross, so I can say that this game is a must have for Macross fans. You can visit the official website for more video and screenshots.

Another good news is that I can go to Danny Choo’s workshop next week. Yeah! Only thing left is waiting for my leave to be approved, which I hope that it can make it on time.

Figures From Danny’s Workshop

Want Lucky Star Series 1 Nendo Puchi!!!

Want Lucky Star Series 1 Nendo Puchi!!!

Didn’t update my blog recently as I’m busy playing Macross Ace Frontier with my PSP. ^^;

Read Danny Choo’s News and found out that he will be giving out figures during his workshop at Singapore. Want the Lucky Star Series 1 Nendo Puchi a lot!!! It’s the only Nendo Puchi set which I dun have the complete set (excluding those special series such as this). Had applied for the workshop, but still no confirmation from the organizer. T_T Maybe it’s because I didn’t update my blog frequently and not many people reading my blog. Really need to improve my blog…

Really hope that I can attend the workshop as I wish to see Danny Choo ‘live’. He not only provides different info about otaku culture and Japan, but also inspired me to start this blog. The workshop also covers topics which will benefit bloggers. More info about his workshop here.

The workshop will be held on 19 Nov 08, which is a Wednesday. It’s free, but only for bloggers. Some info from Animax.
